Decentralization is the future

Firstly let’s define the term decentralization and then get into what it offers the gaming community.

Decentralization refers to the transfer or distribution of authority within a certain industry or central entity. This mainly applies to decision making, planning, voting and coordinating events.

A perfect example of this is the Blockchain. This is not a governed platform and could pretty much be considered as the backbone for the new Internet. Meaning you can store data on the Blockchain and no one can come and take it down (unless technology fails or the grid goes down).

The current internet we use is centralized for the most part because everything is monitored by Google, Microsoft and artificial intelligence so you can build a website but Google has the power and authority to take it down if they see a reason to do so.

So when you are dealing with centralized environments you are limited, have less control and ultimately you never make the big or final decisions, you are dependent on a hierarchy or higher authority to make decisions for you and you are obliged to comply by its laws and regulations, like the Government for example.

Decentralization however is the opposite of this and attempts to give everyone equal control and power in decision making, with exception to some environments where it’s possible to have more voting power, for example if you own a higher stake, shares or tokens in a certain commodity. A good example of this would be some of the current DeFi projects that aim at giving the user a greater level of decision making privileges the more they contribute to the project, which is fair.

One should know there are different types of decentralization like political, financial or recreational etc.

So here in particular we want to discuss how decentralization will affect the gaming industry, what benefits it will offer its massive global community and how Gamiverse is empowering gamers worldwide by providing this type of platform.

What are the benefits of decentralization to the gaming community?

1. Track and authenticate the ownership of digital assets.

2. Reduce the necessity for third parties.

3. Secure payment systems on Blockchain.

4. Integrating Blockchain into your games increases competitiveness compared to traditional games that don’t offer any monetary compensation for their efforts in spending hours upon hours looking for rare and legendary loot.

5. Easily exchange valuable assets like NFTs and tokens with high liquidity on markets.

Gamiverse will aim to make all this possible and more!

There are so many exciting features to decentralized competitive gaming…

For example anyone can come along and host a tournament with a prize pool where either the host provides the entire prize amount or the players buy in and the winner takes all or the prize can be split between the top 3 or top 10. You will be able to set the rules or you can join a game where you feel comfortable playing competitively.

My personal favourite would be the NFTs because I love collectibles and especially ones from the games that I enjoy playing.

Developers around the world are currently working on programmable NFTs which can be used to play with and compete against other players! So imagine a game like Hearthstone on the Blockchain and each individual card is owned by you and can be traded or sold on a marketplace.

Have a look at Gods Unchained led by Chris Clay that has given players complete access, control and ownership of their cards. Players are rewarded monetarily for participating in matches and scheduled tournaments.

Have a look at Lost Relics, a action adventure RPG that offers players a marketplace to sell the items they find for crypto!

Very awesome time we live in.

Stay tuned for the next exciting update on decentralized competitive gaming!
